Major water burst impacts hundreds of homes in Leitrim

Hundreds of homes in South Leitrim are without water this afternoon following a major water burst. 

While crews are on site in Kilnagross repairing the main, it’s expected some customers will not have supply back until twelve midnight. 

Areas affected by the outage include Ballinamore, Fenagh, Mohill, Carrigallen, Gortlettragh, Newtowngore and surrounding areas. 

Leakage reduction works by Irish Water were planned for parts of South Leitrim today however it’s understood this burst relates to the old main.

Councillor Enda Stenson says the local authority and Irish Water are working as quickly as possible to restore supply.
