Major upgrades have been lodged for two GAA clubs in the region

Planning permission was approved for Fenagh St Caillin's GAA Club in Keshcarrigan, Co. Leitrim for the erection of floodlighting and the construction of a training pitch.

Two GAA clubs in the Shannonside region have applied for major upgrade works.

Planning permission was approved for Fenagh St Caillin's GAA Club in Keshcarrigan, Co. Leitrim for the erection of floodlighting and the construction of a training pitch.

Included in the plan is a new car park, a two-storey extension to existing clubrooms, fitness suite, toilets, changing room, kitchen and meeting room, as well as new goal posts and ball stop netting on the pitch.

The project was approved with 10 conditions attached.

Meanwhile, planning permission has been lodged by St Kevin's GAA in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

The development would consist of the erection of 6 flood lights measuring 19 metres in height around the existing training pitch.

The plan is to be decided upon by the end of October.
