One of the biggest employers in this region is calling for the construction industry to be allowed to resume operations as soon as possible.
It's expected that non-essential construction, which has been limited under Covid 5 rules since the turn of the year, will be relaxed as a part of government revision to the Living with Covid plan next month.
However, there is growing concern that the prolonged shutdown has had an enormous economic impact on secondary industries which depend on construction for a large percentage of their businesses.
