Major increase in attendance at Roscommon Hospital Injury Unit

The Injury Unit at Roscommon hospital has seen a significant and sustained rise in attendance since the early part of this year.

That's according to General Manager Mary Garvey who says more and more people seem to have become aware of the service the unit can provide since the beginning of this year.

Responding to a survey this week which found a high patient satisifaction rating for the hospital, the manager says it's a great boost for everyone there and they're very grateful for the local support.

She says the Injury Unit is seeing major use this year with many people saying they've left A and E units at other hospitals to come.
