A major funding investment has been confirmed for two Roscommon secondary schools.
Elphin Community College is to receive money to develop 4 General classrooms, two SET rooms as well as rooms for music, graphics a science lab and art rooms.
The Department of Education Abbey has also confirmed Abbey Community College Boyle is to receive significant funding for 2 General Classrooms as well as an Engineering room, and construction rooms
Additional facilities being provided include Design and Communications Graphics room, a multi media room, and male and female toilets.
Roscommon Senator Eugene murphy has described the funding, which is understood to be several million euro, as a "massive investment" in education facilities in Elphin and Boyle and has praised Minister Norma Foley, her officials and GRETB, school Principals and staff.
