A Longford woman, who is working with the National Health Service in London, feels there is some complacency among people in the city, despite a sharp rise in Covid-19 positive cases.

The UK's capital city is in Tier 4 restrictions at present - which is the equivalent of the current lockdown being experienced in Ireland and it's expected that even tighter restrictions will be imposed on the UK in the next 24 hours.

Emer Delaney told the Joe Finnegan Show that there has been a huge increase on the pressure placed on hospitals by Covid - and the new UK variant of the Coronavirus has led to a greater increase people being struck down by the virus.

The Ballymahon woman, is the current acting head of communications for the NHS in the London area also says the arrival of the vaccine may have led to some people dropping their guard
