Longford woman warns of increasingly complex scam calls

A Longford businesswoman is warning others about the dangers of scam phone calls.

Pat Murphy was victim to a fraudulent call last week which saw over 5000 euro taken from her bank account in the space of three minutes.

The scammers contacted the businesswoman from a UK number and requested that she pay additional courier fees.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan show, Pat Murphy said that she believed the phone was legitimate because of the caller's knowledge of her business.
