Longford-Westmeath TD Micheál Carrigy has been elected as the new chairperson of the Fine Gael parliamentary party.
The Ballinalee man was chosen at their AGM last night in Leinster House.
The first-time TD was only elected to the Dáil last November after four and a half years as a senator.
He says it's an honour to be appointed chairperson of the parliamentary party.
