Speaking yesterday, the CMO said there would be no major public health concerns for large outdoor gatherings - providing everyone attending was vaccinated.

However, this is yet to make a difference to the sector with Laois County Council saying it can't reverse its decision to reject a licence for next month's Electric Picnic.

Shaun Hughes, who performs with local band NEON, says many other European countries have piloted successful measures and have seen the return of live performances.
