The Department of Foreign affairs is providing consular assistance to the family of a Longford man who is in a coma in Spain.
Michael McDonald, who is in his 60s, was found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Gran Canaria last week by a friend.
He was taken from the water and rushed to hospital and has been placed in an induced coma since. It's understood the Legan native had been on a short holiday when the incident occurred.
