Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating reports of an amount of cash on the road near Carrickboy last week.
Local reports suggest that a very large amount of €50 euro notes appear to have fallen out on the road while being carried in a vehicle.
The reports also say that two men were spotted on the road trying to gather the cash.

A statement from the Garda Press Office this afternoon states that Gardaí in Edgeworthstown responded to a report last Thursday the 15th of July that two men were seen on the N55 near the turn off for Legan, and that there appeared to be cash on the road.
Gardaí who went to the scene said no one was present when they arrived but that enquiries are ongoing.
