Longford county board have recorded a loss of €173,495 for 2020, a year heavily impacted by the covid-19 pandemic.
County chairman Albert Cooney described the outcome as “not disastrous but needed to be reversed for 2021”.
Gate receipts took a major hit for Longford board with Longford losing a potentially lucrative home fixture with Cork to a walk-over, however no fans would have been in attendance.
Fund raising was also heavily hampered due to the covid-19 pandemic.
In his address Longford Chairman Albert Cooney spoke against the 2021 Allianz League plan which will see division three split into two groups.
Cooney highlighted he would hope to not see this move occur after the 2021 season.
The majority of the current board were returned with the following exceptions.
Patrick Maguire replaced Marie O’Reilly as children’s officer as O’Reilly’s five-year term had been completed.
Marie O’Reilly defeated George McDermott in a vote for the position of Assistant treasurer, while James Clarke defeated Gerry Hagan in a vote as Central Council representative.
