Longford District Court saw the highest number of people convicted for the possession of drugs in the first nights months of the year.
Freedom of Information figures released by the courts service to Shannonside FM reveal 40 people were found guilty of drug possession at courts across Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.
34 people were convicted at Longford District Court for the possession of drugs between January 1st and September 31st 2022.
That's the highest figure in the Shannonside region.
In Roscommon a total of 16 people were found guilty of drug possession during the same period.
This included eight at Roscommon court, five at Castlerea and two at Ballaghaderreen and one in Strokestown.
While six people were convicted at Carrick-on-Shannon for the offence.
