A local councillor has raised a motion for a major redevelopment at the former army barracks in Co. Longford.
Longford Councillor Seamus Butler is calling for a New Innovation Quarter at Connolly Barracks. It comes as substantial upgrades have recently been completed at Ballina Military Barracks in Co. Mayo. Funding worth €8 million was earmarked for construction works at the former army barracks in Ballina, which created a business hub that hugely benefitted the local economy.
Speaking on Let's Talk today, Councillor Seamus Butler explained that after long deliberations, the time has come for the redevelopment at Longford's Connolly Barracks to commence:
