Longford Council reveals end date for Newtownforbes street works

It's hoped road improvement works will be completed in Newtownforbes by the end of next month.

The issue was raised at a meeting of Longford M.D. where Councillor John Browne stated some locals felt the project had been left abandoned.

Works initially began in the town in May 2021 and were due to take approximately six months

However, the Longford representative says he's been receiving serious complaints over the length of time it's been taking to finish the second half of the improvement works.

Council officials say the ESB are currently carrying out underground works and once this is complete resurfacing will take place before the end of April.
