4 NCT centres in the Shannonside region have no tests available before May.
As of yesterday evening, the next available appointment in the Longford centre was June 26th.
The Carrick On Shannon and Ballinasloe centres both had no appointments available until the first week of June.
The next available test in Castlerea was May 4th, while Athlone had the shortest waiting time, with January 30th the next available date.
Nationally 60 percent of NCT centres have no test appointment available within the next five months.
Junior Transport Minister, Jack Chambers, says improvement is badly needed.
