Sow Now seed packets will be available in Supervalu stores nationwide from next week.

People across the Shannonside region are being urged to plant sun flowers as part of a new solidarity and support campaign for the people of Ukraine.

Sow Now has been set up by Carlow woman Jacqui McNabb and Tetiana Pankiv, a Ukrainian woman who was forced to flee the country with her 3 daughters.

The project began as a way for refugees to help their countrymen and women who were still in Ukraine, with the group now planning to sell over 100,000 packets of sunflower seeds to raise funds for the Irish Red Cross.

Sow Now are calling for volunteers to join them in Tullow in Carlow tomorrow to help pack the seeds, which will then be available at Supervalu and Centra outlets across the country.

Longford business LC Digital is one of the companies behind Sow Now.
