The Golden Island Shopping centre in Athlone has confirmed that the wearing of facemasks to enter the centre is now mandatory.
The centre has issued a statement on Facebook asking the public to respect the safety measures and people should arrive with their face masks on.
The centre says that they are trying to work hard to ensure safe and enjoyable shopping experience for people.

Concern had been expressed this week that many shoppers were not wearing masks and Shannonside Northern Sound understands that signage has bene erected at several retail parks and shopping centres now reminding people of the mandatory responsibility to wear masks.
