Five local sites are among the 50 broadband connection points that are now providing high speed internet to some of the most isolated and rural communities in the country.
The points have been set up in community halls, libraries, GAA facilities, and other public spaces where locals can avail of 150Mb high speed internet.
In Roscommon, Creeve Community Centre, Gortaganny Resource Centre and Tulsk Digi Hub have been connected.
Mullinalaghta Community Centre and Ballymore Shamrocks GAA Club are the live connection points in Longford.
Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys believes the access points can revitalise rural Ireland.
