In 2019 the Ombudsman received 63 complaints from people living in Roscommon, with 26 complaints from Leitrim residents and 34 from Longford. Poeple can contact

In 2019 the Ombudsman received 63 complaints from people living in Roscommon, with 26 complaints from Leitrim residents and 34 from Longford.

Poeple can contact the Ombudsman if they are unhappy with the service offered by a public body, such as a social welfare payment or a local authority decision.

The office is holding an outreach week for people in the two counties this week to raise awareness of the role of the Ombudsman.

As well as hosting webinars with public representatives of staff in public bodies, the Ombudsman Peter Tyndall has been meeting with senior management at Leitrim County Council and Roscommon University Hospital.

A special 'Call Back' service for people in Leitrim and Roscommon is also available this week where people can text or call the team on 086 141 4326 on a 24 hour basis.
