Women across the Shannonside region are showing a strong interest in entering politics.
Tara Farrell from Longford Women's Link says that over 1,000 women from across the country have taken part in See Her Elected training programes.
The organisation supports women across rural Ireland to become county councillors and to be part of political campaign teams.

The LWL Chief Executive says enthusiasm is high among Irish women despite the recent resignation of high profile female politicians such as Jacinda Ardern and Nicola Sturgeon.
