Local travel agents fear job losses unless roadmap on international tourism released

International tourism could be on the horizon as EU leaders look set to approve the EU's digital green cert for international travel within the bloc.

Travel agents across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region are urging the Government to present clear guidelines and a structure for the return of international travel.

Calls have been made for the Taoiseach to include the sector in his address to the nation on Friday on the road plan for easing of restrictions in July.

Jeff Collins from Best4Travel in Athlone says the public is not willing to take the risk in booking international holidays without clear guidance from Government and health officials.
