Local TD encourages public to avail of home energy grants

A local TD is encouraging people to avail of the Government's home energy grants.

It comes as new figures reveal that the Government has supported almost 48,000 retrofits including Solar PV last year, an increase of 76% since 2022. Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy welcomed this increase, adding that of those homes, almost 5,900 low-income households were provided with free energy upgrades. The average value of the free upgrades under the Warmer Homes Scheme was €25,000. The Longford-Westmeath TD is recommending the grant to the public and to benefit from not only living in warmer homes, but also from reducing their energy bills.
