The See Her Elected project has been crowned the winner of the 2021 Innovation in Politics Award in the Democracy category at the European Commission.
The project is a feminist, community-led, rural initiative designed to support women into politics.
CEO of Longford Women's Link Tara Farrell, and Longford Westmeath minister Peter Burke were among those in Brussels last night to receive the honour.

The annual EU awards recognise creative projects from across Europe which break new ground to find innovative solutions to today's challenges.
The See her Elected project was one of over 400 from across Europe which were evaluated as part of the awards and saw winners in nine categories.
