Athlone Town Football Club are appealing for information following an alleged burglary from their premises. In an official statement, the club say that in the early hours of yesterday, electrical equipment with an estimated value of €3,000 was stolen from the stadium.
According to Athlone Town, the equipment is vital to the online streaming of matches. Issuing an appeal for information, the club say they are extremely disheartened at the incident and called it an attack on the spirit of the club. Anyone who was in the vicinity of Athlone Town Stadium around 3am yesterday is being encouraged to contact Athlone Garda Station.
