A local Senator says ticket machines at Castlerea Train Station are two decades old. Fine Gael Senator Gareth Scahill made the claim in the Seanad yesterday after receiving correspondence from Irish Rail.
He says he was unable to purchase a train ticket for a station that's not on the Westport to Dublin Heuston line as the machine is too old. Senator Scahill says people should be able to purchase tickets for any destination at a train station rather than having to book it online:
