A Longford senator has expressed his frustration after failing to receive a clear answer on when an upgrade to a facility in the county that dates back to the mid-19th century will be progressed
Micheal Carrigy appealed to the government to make a statement on the relocation of the Phoenix Centre at the St Joseph's Complex in light of growing demand for services in the Seanad this week.
However, the response from Minister for Public Health Frank Feighan was dismissed as not providing clarity on any future plans to expand services or provide a new setting for the Phoenix Centre.

The Ballinalee man believes the issue needs to be progressed as matter or urgency.
