Local sectors react to Budget 2022

The hospitality sector across the Region is divided following today's Budget announcement.

The failure to extend the 9 per cent vat rate past August 2022 is being described as a blow to the industry.

However, Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Pascal Gillard of Jinny's Tea Rooms in Drumshanbo said the 9 per cent rate is welcome for the moment.

Meanwhile, Businesses say there wasn't enough in the Budget for them.

Graham Byrne, chairman of the Small Firms Association, says there were no tax measures to help expanding companies.
