People across the Shannonside Northern Sound region are being encouraged to adopt a chicken this Christmas. The Little Hills Animal Rescue and Sanctuary are looking for new owners to come forward. The rescue centre is appealing for locals to adopt instead of shop as the holidays approach. Susan Anderson is a representative from Little Hills Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. Speaking to Let's Talk, she explained that chickens are often badly kept in overcrowded conditions, and that information is available on the rescue centre's Facebook page for those who may be interested in adopting.
The rescue is holding a chicken transport run through Cavan, Granard, Ballymahon and Athlone this afternoon.
