Leitrim hotelier urges Government to maintain Covid supports

It comes as new restrictions take effect aimed at reversing the rise in Covid rates.

A Leitrim hotelier is urging the Government to re-implement supports in light of new Covid health guidelines.

From midnight tonight pubs, restaurants and nightclubs will have a curfew of 12am.

Joe Dolan, manager of the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon is calling on the Department of Social Protection to fully maintain the employment wage subsidy scheme.

The former President of the Irish Hotels Federation believes special supports are needed due the cancellation of some events in the run up to Christmas.

The local businessman feels the new guidelines are disappointing but says they are required to keep employees and the community safe.
