15 and a half million euro is owed to Hospitals in the Saolta Group

Close to 3 million euro is currently owed to Sligo University Hospital from private health insurance companies.

According to the figures presented at the Western Region Health Forum held this week, it's part of a 15 and a half million euro fund owed to Hospitals in Galway, Sligo, Mayo and Limerick.

2.8 million euro is due to SUH, with €100,000 of that outstanding for more than a year.

University Hospital Galway has the highest figure owed in the Saolta Hospital Group with 10 million euro is owed

1.8 million euro of that bill has been outstanding for over a year.

The remainder of the owed funds are split between Limerick University Hospital and Mayo University Hospital.
