Local Gardaí are warning motorists over the dangers of defective vehicles following a number of detections in the region in recent days.
During a checkpoint conducted in Roscommon town yesterday, members of the local roads policing unit stopped two defective vehicles.
Both vehicles were found to have damaged tyres, with the drivers receiving Fixed Charge Penalty Notices

According to Gardaí, defective tyres are the most likely car part that could contribute to the cause of a road traffic accident.
