The Domestic Solar PV grant will fall by €300, reducing the maximum allowance to €2,100.

A local councillor has defended the decision by the government to cut grants for residential solar panels from January. The Domestic Solar PV grant will fall by €300, reducing the maximum allowance to €2,100.

Westmeath Green Party Cllr Louise Heavin believes there has been a generous reduction in costs on solar panels over the past few years. However speaking to Let's Talk earlier today, Cllr Heavin said there are still barriers preventing people installing solar panels:
