A local councillor has called on Government to set up a single authority with total control of the management, maintenance and navigation levels of the River Shannon. Roscommon Councillor Tony Ward's call comes following serious flooding in the Shannon Callows areas earlier in the year.
Cllr Ward spoke to Let's Talk earlier today about how it has been a challenging year for farmers beside the Shannon. He want's farming organisations to the forefront to help bring a conclusion to the situation:
