Local Cllr says crackdown needed on e-scooters and scramblers

A student garda was hospitalised after being struck while on patrol in Dublin on Wednesday.

Local calls have been made for greater enforcement of e-scooters and scramblers. Under regulations introduced last year, users must be over 16 and obey a speed limit of 20 kilometres per hour. A student garda was hospitalised after being struck while on patrol in Dublin on Wednesday.

A teenager was subsequently stopped and a quantity of cannabis was seized- the boy was arrested but has since been released. Local Cllr Seamus Butler says a crackdown is needed:
