A Roscommon childminder is appealing to people to take action ahead of the end of public consultation on new regulations. The Department of Children's deadline for submissions on the new regulations is this Thursday.
The department says they would provide childminders with formal recognition and will also benefit children and families using their services. But Roscommon childminder Marie Gillooly says the regulations will result in many childminders leaving the sector - and is urging people to have their say:
