Local charities benefit from Toy Show appeal funding

Over 50,000 euro has been allocated to charities across the Shannonside region as part of the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal fund.

Northwest Stop received one of the highest allocations locally with 13,000 euro.

It's to create an art / play therapy room for children and young people which will allow for additional therapy sessions for more than 150 young people

Mohill Family Support Centre benefits from 13,000 euro while Athlone refugee and Asylum seeker support will get 12,000 euro to run a new summer school.

Cancer Support Sanctuary LARCC has been awarded 4,000 euro to furnish and equip the Play Therapy Room at Cancer Support Sanctuary LARCC to support children facing cancer in Co Roscommon and the surrounding areas.
