A local CEO is urging victims of sexual abuse to use a new information resource.
Stephen Madden of the Sligo Rape Crisis center says the step by step guide gives practical information to help survivors of sexual violence.
The 'Finding Your Way' online resource covers everything from accessing medical treatment to navigating the courts system.
Since 1988, the Sligo Rape Crisis Center has supported individuals affected by sexual violence in Sligo, Leitrim, and Cavan.
According to the chief executive of the local center, the guide highlights the supports available to help victims and survivors.
'It is very clearly laid out and it goes through all the different areas in terms of being affected .It starts off with a definition with what sexual violence is and any ways anyone might be affected. It also gives really practical information about resources available to you in terms of the Garda, Medical, forensic examinations and any other supports available.'
