Nationally, a sum of over €67 million was spent resealing over 2,800 kilometres of road surface by local authorities.

Over €8 million was spent on resealing local roads in the Shannonside Northern Sound region last year.

Sealing roads helps to restore grip and texture while creating a waterproof surface to make driving safer.

The latest figures from the National Oversight and Audit Commission show that over 440 kilometres of local roads underwent resealing works during that period.
