The cannabis plant and herb was discovered at a house in Roscommon in June of last year

A Lithuanian man has pleaded guilty to the possession of close to €600,000 worth of drugs at a Roscommon house last year.

Mantas Dervini of Catron Beg, Frenchpark was found in possession of 139 cannabis plants along with 22 and a half kilos of vacuum packed cannabis herb at his home on the 16th of June, 2021.

Mr Dervini was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis for sale or supply under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

He pleaded guilty to the charges at a recent sitting of Roscommon Circuit Court in front of Judge Francis Commerford.

The Lithuanian national has been in custody since his arrest last year, with Judge Commerford continuing his imprisonment until the sentencing in June.
