A Lithuanian man is due back in court this Friday after being charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis growhouse in Ballymahon last week.
The 20-year-old, who is believed to have only arrived in Ireland in the last number of months, was charged with three offences after the discovery of cannabis plants worth an estimated €130,000 at a house just outside the town last Thursday.
He faces charges of possession, cultivation as well as sale and supply connected with the discovery of the drugs and made no reply after being charged.
He was remanded in custody at a special sitting of Mullingar District court last Friday and is due to appear at Athlone District court this Friday where an application for bail is expected to be lodged.
