LISTEN: Thousands look to early start for Darkness Into Light

Thousands of people across the Shannonside Northern Sound region will be watching the sunrise tomorrow as part of the 'Darkness Into Light' fundraiser.

It's the largest fundraiser for charity Pieta, which provides free, accessible one-to-one counselling to people suffering from suicidal ideation, engaging in self-harm or to those bereaved by suicide.

Running since 2009, Darkness Into Light usually takes the form of a community coming together to walk 5 kilometres and raise funds, however this year, people are asked to support it individually.

Melissa Doon of the Boyle Darkness Into Light committee says it's really important to share the moment and donate on Pieta.ie.
