The new Ministers of State are being briefed on their new roles as part of the government.

Deputy Robert Troy is one of two Longford-Westmeath TDs who have been appointed Ministers of State in the last 24 hours.

The Fianna Fail TD will work beside the Tanaiste in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

He told the Joe Finnegan show that the focus on foreign trade and investment will be vital in helping restore Ireland's economy following the pandemic :

Longford Westmeath Peter Burke is now Minister of State Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government with responsibility for Local Government and Planning.

He told the Joe Finnegan Show that he is hopeful of using his previous experience at a local level to assist in his new role:

New Junior Minister at the Department fo Health Frank Feighan is meeting with officials today to make a start of his brief as with responsibility for Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy.
