The latest rescue took place on Thursday evening when six people were taken off a boat which was taking on water

Lough Ree RNLI is urging anyone taking to the water this summer to not make the mistake of complacency.

A total of 30 people have been rescued from the lake in June alone - with the latest rescue taking place on Thursday evening when six people were taken from a stricken vessel.

The RNLI is urging anyone who gets into trouble not to be afraid to ring for their help, and if they are planning a trip to ensure they are fully prepared for changing weather conditions.
