Kevin Doran has taken over as the Bishop of Achonry at an installation Mass in St Nathy's Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen today.
Over 500 parishioners and invited guests attended the ceremony this afternoon, which saw him become the 55th Bishop of Achonry.
Bishop Doran has been the Bishop of Elphin for several years and now takes charge of both dioceses, which are merging.

Bishop Doran spoke to our reporter Eoghan Murphy afterwards, where he was asked about whether St Nathy's Cathedral would be downgraded, the shortage of priests and the future of half-parishes in the region:
