A Leitrim woman has been shortlisted for environmental award, Ocean Hero of the year.
The accolades, which are in association with Clean Coasts honour the contribution of volunteers towards conserving the country's coastline.
Martina Leary has been recognised in the two minute beach clean category for her use of social media to empower, educate and inspire individuals to make simple changes.

The environmental activist runs the Leitrim Litter Picker account on Instagram which has almost 2,000 followers.
Martina says the eyesore of litter in Leitrim, steers her to reverse the tide in favour of a cleaner and sustainable environment.
