People in Leitrim are being encouraged to attend a special event on mental health which will happen in Dromahair towards the end of this month.
Leitrim's Health is Wealth is the brainchild of Hubert McHugh a former 'Leitrim Person of the Year' who is a retired community mental health nurse.
He has worked with the help of Valerie Cogan who's another community nurse to organise an event each year since 2017 where different speakers given their accounts of dealing with mental health issues.
This year's evening will take place in St Mary Church Dromahair on Thursday the 29th, and includes speakers Frank Diamond, Martina Mitchell, Justin Campbell, and Andy Moran.
Hubert McHugh says listening to other people experiences can be a real help for someone who is going through a rough period.
"They're all speaking about different subjects and when people come there they begin to learn the language from these speakers who maybe had difficulties. They pick up the words they're using and then they're able to put their words and thoughts on their emotions into action and able to go get support if they have a little problem themselves".
