€62 million in funding has been made available to cover small-scale ventilation improvements.

A County Leitrim principal is criticising the communication methods of the Department of Education.

Alan Kelly from Scoil Muire Naofa in Carrigallen says it's disappointing to hear school guidance from the media before receiving official communication from the Government.

It comes as the Department of Education has announced a fund that will help make improvements to schools, including through the purchasing of air purifiers.
