It's almost a month since the win.

A Leitrim man who scooped half a million euro on a scratch card still hasn't received his money almost a month later.

Gordon Oakes from Ballinamore purchased the card at Murphy's shop in the town and was astonished to learn he had won 500,000 euro.

Following several emails and video calls, an official from the National Lottery visited the lucky winner and collected the ticket.

Four weeks later he is still waiting to receive his pay out and despite further communication with the regulator, Gordon has yet to be told when his cheque might arrive.

In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound the National Lottery say all claims are now made remotely due to Covid-19, but they work very closely with each winner to ensure their prize claim is as quick and easy as possible.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, the former tree surgeon says the process is too difficult and he would prefer the money to be in his bank account at this stage.
