A centre for the care of adults with intellectual disabilities in Leitrim has received high praise following a HIQA inspection report.
Ballinamore Supported Accommodation is run by The Rehab Group and provides care for up to 8 adults.
An unannounced inspection in January found that the centre was compliant in 11 out of 12 sectors and substantially compliant in the remaining one.
Inspectors noted that residents had a good quality of life in comfortable and safe surroundings, while their rights and choices were also well respected.
Staff were noted to prioritise the wellbeing, safety and independence of residents and enjoyed close relationships with them.
The premises and gardens were found to be in good repair and were well maintained and cleaned.
Improvements were identified in two areas of infection control including hand hygiene supplies and cleaning equipment storage, with the concerns already being addressed by centre management.
